I've had this mixer for over a year and I love it. My only wish is that there was a on of switch as sometimes I need to unplug it it to start it as I get an error message. It's a powerhouse that can mix my toughest doughs, and my favorite feature is the slow start mixing, it's saves me from a mess of flour or powdered sugar going all over the place!

It handles dough, batter, and everything in between and is equipped with a scale. That's a win. But, it™€™s heavy. Like, really heavy! Definitely a ™€œleave it on the counter™€ appliance. Many RVs may not have the space for this. Be sure to measure!

Issues right out of the box

Out the box have already got one issue, the access report won™€™t stay closed. Looking through the hole it looks like the hole in the accessory report does not line up with the screw and looking at the parts diagram. It™€™s not listed as a replaceable part even though it™€™s just a part that un screws this is kind of ridiculous.

Poisonous and dangerous--avoid.

Shortly after the warranty period, the stand mixer started leaking oil--which dropped directly into the food in the mixing bowl. This makes it worse than useless--it makes it poisonous and dangerous to use. I'm shocked that such an expensive appliance could be affected by an issue like this. I've reported this to GE and requested a resolution. I will update this review if they provide a favorable resolution. If you do not see this updated--be forewarned and avoid.

I love to bake. And to make new recipes all the time I didn™€™t care for my k mixer popular brand. So I gave this one a try. Wow. Just go ahead and bite the bullet and get it. It™€™s 100 percent worth it. This comes with all the attachments that I need. That I had to buy separately for my other mixer which was a pain. Sourdough bread turns out way better after using this mixer now. No more dry spots everything™€™s well blended

Bowl jumps while kneading dough

I like my Profile mixer however I am having problems with the bowl. It jumps while kneading bread dough. I followed the instruction book and only set it on 2 and only use 4 cups of flour. I even tried it on Stir but it still jumped. I snap the bowl in and the arms are raised. One two occasions the arms actually dropped. Please help. I called customer service but it was not helpful. Thanks

The amount of engineering in this mixer is clearly over looked in many reviews. A reversible DC motor provides maximum torque even at low speeds. The hex head attachments provide secure engagement. For get the wifi and phone app, features I will never use. The real engineering is in the design. My negative for now is that the bowl, when mixing needs to be scraped down far too often. Simply from a visual perspective the beater needs to be wider at the top or the bowl narrower. At any rate hope there is a new beater soon.

Superior performance with a lot op features

Having owned both a 7-Qt KitchenAid and an Ankarsum mixer, I can confidently say this Profile stand mixer surpasses them both. Its brushless motor delivers superior torque, resulting in cooler dough temperatures. I can even mix my brioche dough at a lower speed compared to my KA, which is a significant improvement. The timer and reverse function, including the active stir mode, are incredibly useful. The built-in scale is a bit of a mixed bag. It can be slow at times, and the 5-gram increments might not be ideal for all baking needs. However, the accompanying app is a great feature. I frequently use it for active stir functions and to follow guided recipes, particularly those from King Arthur Flour. The auto-sense recipes are somewhat limited in their current selection. Compared to my other mixers, this mixer is more expensive. However, I believe it's worth the investment due to its superior performance, robust construction, and more features.

I can't really review this product until it's fully set up. I'm a very technical person but can't get the basic Autosense technology to work. I can't get my email authorized or validated so the wifi hasn't connected and I can't activate its features. Until I do this is a "dumb" appliance.

I have used Kitchen Aid mixers for many years. My primary purpose is to make bread using the dough hook. My Kitchen Aid mixer was near its end of life, so I purchased this GE Profile Mixer. This mixer exudes quality in its build, design and function. The quality of the dough and gluten formation when making all kinds of bread is fantastic, and in a short amount of kneading time. This mixers is very well made in its construction and attachments (dough hook, paddle and wire whisk). The quality of the final bread product is fantastic. I hope the life span of this mixer is as good as it performs. This is far superior to any mixer of this type on the market today. I paid for this with my money $599.00 at Sur La table and received absolutely no compensation for this review, and have had this for approx 6 weeks at the time of this review.

Great Heavy Duty Mixer produces fabulous Bread Dou

I have been using Kitchen Aid Mixers for many years, mainly using the dough hook attachment for making breads and sweet rolls. I make all kinds of bread; Rye, Pumpernickel, Wheat. Oatmeal and Cinnamon Bread and sweet rolls. The results from this Ge Profile Mixer is unsurpassed in its efficiency to produce the gluten structure needed for good results and it does this in less time than any other mixer I have used. This machine exudes quality in its build and function; its weight and the attachments are very substantial and functional, I have made several batches of dough and it has produced fabulous results. I really do not care about using the WiFi and Apps to control the mixer functions,because for me it is just a superior made product that give me fantastic results. In my opinion it is far superior to any Kitchen Aid Mixer. I did not receive any compensation what so ever for this mixer, I purchased online for $599.00 from Sur La Table. Time will tell concerning its durability as I have only had this for about 6 weeks as of the date of this review.

We bought this mixer because it has (1) Auto Sense technology so it can sense when butter is properly creamed and egg whites are properly whipped, and (2) a built-in scale so you can weigh ingredients right in the mixer bowl. Neither feature works. Auto Sense can only be run through the app. We were very bummed about having to download an app to use the mixer, and in addition, the app is buggy. It was difficult to get the mixer connected. We ended up spending forty minutes on the phone with GE™€™s Wifi Team, trying and retrying under their guidance. We normally don™€™t need this kind of support, because my husband builds software for a living. Now that we can finally see the app, we know that the Auto Sense feature only works with GE™€™s recipes. That™€™s a total dud as far as I™€™m concerned. I want to use my recipes. As for the integrated scale, it just plain doesn™€™t work. You have to zero it out before you start weighing, and I have to press the zero button as many as five times to get it to actually zero out. Then, when I add ingredients, the weight bounces around from 220 grams to 210 grams to 245, 230, back to 210. If I can get it to settle on one weight, it™€™s not even accurate. I weighed my sugar on my trusty scale, which said 250 grams. But when I put it in the GE Profile Mixer, its scale landed (eventually) on 235 grams. That™€™s going to change the texture of the cookies for sure. I rue the day I bought this mixer. Now we are stuck in a customer service loop with GE. To their credit, they do have a well-staffed customer service toll free Lin. But all I want is to get rid of this thing and put my old stand mixer back on the counter. Maybe this product will be ready for prime time in a few years. Not now. Do not buy.

Magical Mixer!

I can™€™t say how much I love this mixer. There are so many well-thought out design functions it offers while still being super easy to use. The front-loading lock bowl feature made set-up super easy. I love how I can change the attachments with one click. The built in scale option made it so easy to measure out ingredients for tricky recipes. I used it for Thanksgiving and it cut so much of the work out of my meal prep. I also loved the reverse feature, it helped release sticky doughs. Being able to throw the attachments in the dishwasher after also made clean up a breeze. It was so cool also how I could pair it to my Alexa and give it hands-free direction while I worked in other things in the kitchen!

This thing is a BEAST.

A beast in power, but also in weight. This giant machine offers a lot when it comes to accessibility. It can connect to Alexa or Google Voice for easy access to commands. Has a built-in scale, and it's own app. HOWEVER.. The app designed for the mixer isn't really worth the time. You can't search for specific recipes, and it seems like most recipes don't work with the mixer as intended. When you DO find a recipe on the app, it's honestly really easy to follow along, but the accessibility on the app is awful atm. Hoping GE adds more accessibility to recipes. The built-in scale is a GAME CHANGER, but the fact you can't move the mixer-head is a HUGE flaw. It was a mess trying to pry the bowl off the stand with the dough-hook there. Overall this is a hulk of a mixer for only the busiest bakers. Expect to keep this monster on your counter 24/7, not just because its bulky, but nifty, as well!

As an avid baker, I admit that I wasn™€™t convinced that a smart stand mixer was a necessary upgrade to my kitchen until I started working with the Profile Smart Mixer. Right off the bat, the additions of an integrated timer and scale on the stand mixer itself are brilliantly useful. The Auto Sense functions as operated through the SmartHQ app were delightfully easy to use. The first recipe I tried through the app was homemade butter. I couldn™€™t believe that once I pushed the instruction to make the butter to the stand mixer I could just walk away and let the stand mixer determine (through gauging viscosity) when the butter was finished developing. That is wild to me. I think in a time when everyone is a little frazzled and multitasking, this appliance is an excellent upgrade to the standard stand mixer. That is not to say that it is only satisfying to use because of its high-tech upgrades. I also tested it completely offline to make a coffee cake. It™€™s great. Using it without the app still provides the benefit of using the scale and timer, and several more speeds than a standard stand mixer. The only potential drawback I can see is that it is significantly heavier than the standard KitchenAid stand mixer. A quick search suggests that it is about twice the weight of the KitchenAid Classic and Artisan series and around 30% heavier than the Pro series mixers. (I™€™m using this as a metric because many bakers have encountered and had to lift one of these at some point.) If you™€™re buying the Profile Mixer as a gift, make sure that the recipient is either strong enough to move it or has someone who can help them move it. I initially considered this as a gift for an older family member and decided against it based entirely on the weight. That said, I strongly recommend this appliance overall and I think I will get a lot of use from it for years to come.

Y™€™all! This mixer is EVERYTHING! I love that you can connect to WiFi and Bluetooth with this and that the app has recipes on it. I made some brownies with it to test it out and it mixes the batter perfectly and even has a bowl shield which makes it easy to pour the ingredients in and not splatter everywhere. Highly recommend this!

This mixer is amazing! I love how beautiful it is and how cool it looks on my counter. It is HEAVY though, so it needs to live on the counter. My favorite part is the built in scale!! I hate using different cups to measure every single thing, also this way is less time consuming.

More Testing Needed but I™€™m intrigued

I'm a baker, big time. I have a beautiful basic Cuisinart stand mixer that has gained significant mileage since I was gifted it, so I was excited to try this mixer. This fella embodies modern kitchen innovation with smart technology and some powerful smart mixing capabilities. Enthusiasts take note. This mixer has an impressive array of features, including smart connectivity via an app, but sometimes the app glitches. These random glitches make me nervous. What will I do if it messes up a project? Some recipes are time consuming and expensive! It also weighs an ungodly amount. I'm talking 50+ pounds. Unweildy. It took both me and my partner to get it upstairs into the kitchen, which is insane for a stand mixer. Yeah, they're heavy, but this is excessive. I also am so used to analog baking that I find myself struggling to trust this machine and it's "smart" capabilities. How can it truly tell if my batters and meringues are perfect? I am having a hard time leaning in to giving the app and mixer control. However, this is an expensive machine. It's a much more expensive than a nice KitchenAid. $800! This is for serious SERIOUS bakers. Might be too much for me. On the positive side, the GE Profile Smart Mixer maintains its strength in performance and design. The motor and various speed settings are efficient for a wide range of recipes, from delicate batters (macarons anyone?) to heavy doughs. The black frame makes it super durable and it looks slick but it does require constant wiping to keep it looking clean. It really is beautiful, and it fits in my minimalist mod decor. If the app is worked out more and I can learn to trust it more, this could be a winner, but we'll have to wait and see. More testing, which means more treats!!!!

It is very sturdy with industrial strength and quality. The attachments: Beater, Dough Hook, and Wire Whisk are all substantial in weight and size. Expensive retail price, but well worth it if you like to bake and want quality equipment, also directly comparable to KitchenAid Mixers.

This thing is POWERFUL! It mixes like a dream. The reason I took 1 star off is because connecting to the app has been tough so I've lost some functionality. Another thing that is an adjustment is the top not lifting up. The arms moving down help but it would be a little easier if the top tilted up. Lastly, it's gorgeous. I love having this out on display. Thankfully, because this thing is heavy! It's also very tall. It wouldn't fit fully under my cabinets so I bought a cute little stand for it.

Wonderful mixer with tonnes of features but heavy

This stand mixer has so many features I'm still working it all out. Ive connected it to the app, and I get to program the recipes straight from the app itself. The in-built weighing scale is incredibly accurate, I was very impressed. If you use a recipe from the app, the mixer knows when to stop mixing on its own, so there's no need for me to guess the consistency either. The only negative (which might be a big one for some) is the fact that it is very very heavy (at least 30-40 pounds) and I cannot budge it from its permanent place on my kitchen countertop.

Cool but with Drawbacks

On the surface, the Smart Mixer is really cool. It™€™s definitely made with high quality materials and offers some incredible features. The built in scale is great. I also love that fact that it can mix ingredients to your satisfaction with a sensor that knows when to stop mixing based on the consistency you want. It has a timer and it is compatible with Alexa. The problem is the manual functionality. Firstly, there™€™s no way of raising the top part. This is the first mixer that I™€™ve used that doesn™€™t have that. The biggest issue, however, is the size and weight. I would be surprised if the mixer weighed less than 30lbs. This makes it virtually impossible to maneuver in a small kitchen for my elderly mom. I can see this being great for someone who bakes a lot. But for the average home consumer, it™€™s too complex and too heavy to justify having in the home. Of course, YMMV.

A new era for mixing!

I had no idea stand mixers needed an upgrade until I got the new GE Profile Smart Mixer with Auto Sense. GE is one of the most reliable brands out there so I was really excited to give this mixer a try. I do have a kitchen aid mixer that I have had for about 7 years now so am able to compare both and I have to say, I was shocked how much I loved the GE one. Bringing in new technology to help you in the baking process is genius. You know longer need a scale bc this mixer does the work for you! The app has guided recipes to help you step by step. It even comes with a built in timer. They really have thought or everything!

This mixer is built to last, and the quality of the construction shows. It is heavy and built for generations. I had the other kitchen mixer, and it outperformed it. Some of the best pizza dough is made with this mixer.. if you are modern and love new-age machines, this is for you. My favorite thing is Alexa Stop mixing in 3 minutes. The only downside is there are limited recipes for it to read out, but they are constantly updating and adding more

Beautiful, but noisy

I have to give my honest review this smart mixer is so beautiful, the technology is really amazing and this mixer is built with a smart scale and timer, but I™€™m not impressed with how heavy it is and I don™€™t like the way the top does not recline back to fit the bowl under. However, the power is strong and super noisy compared with kitchen aid.

An Absolute Home Baker's Dream!

I am obsessed with this mixer. As someone who bakes often, and by weight and not volume measure (as one should, for accuracy), the built in scale feature is an absolute godsend. Plus, the scale will work whether you have the bowl attachment in place or not, so you could measure one set of ingredients, remove the vessel from the base, and then measure a second set. Perfect for integrating wet and dry ingredients separately before moving on to combining. No more fiddling with small countertop scales! I love the attachment heads, the first thing I noticed was how weighty and substantial they are, and their construction totally pays off in practice because this mixer truly mixes. I have done less bowl scraping than ever. It's also so much easier to switch between attachments, and to mount the mixing bowl. They use a lever system instead of a twist and notch approach, which definitely has the potential to improve accessibility. I love the integration of the timer and sensor setting options; I have yet to try any of the recipes that are featured in the app, but I utilize the app itself to control the mixer. It's also surprisingly space-efficient; it takes up less space than my other mixer and there is much more space between the neck of the machine and the bowl itself, especially if you lever down to make room. My new favorite kitchen appliance!
